We – the ESC team 2020/2021 – have already been in Wrocław for four months and are enjoying the new year. We carried out our first projects: a concert in front of an oncology Children’s Hospital for the Polish Kindness Day and also organised a project called “Big Heart, Warm Hands and Feet” with the aim of collecting clothes for people in need.
Together we are looking forward for the next 8 months in Poland and all the new possibilities that come with it. We want to create new projects, live more adventures and get to know better the polish culture and language.
If you want to get to know us better- Who we are? Where are we from? What are our interests? – we invite you to our Instagram account: @jazda_z_pomslami, where you can keep updated about what we are we doing and also see individual presentations of every volunteer.
Below you have a little preview of the volunteers wishes/goals and the links, ordered by age, for their presentations:
Laura: “My personal goal in this year is to make a LGBTQ+ project to support people in the fight against homophobia and LGBT free zones in Poland.“
Guillermo: “We’ll be doing hopefully some cool stuff for the people and for ourselves.“
Andrea: “I embarked on this adventure without speaking a word of English, which is a very big challenge for me still to this day!“
Virginia: “I think of volunteering as a very important step everyone should be engaged in at some point in their lives, not only as a concrete act of help and solidarity, but also as a way of personal growth and self-discovery.”
Helena: “I honestly believe the sky is the limit and I can not wait to get there with all these amazing people.“
Guilia: “I’ve never been digging deeper in my understanding of volunteering activities, it always felt kind of natural the push of looking for “something else” while tangled in duties.“
Bryan: ”…with regard to my professional training, I have always been interested in local social integration projects, aimed at young people in difficulty or ethnic groups at risk of exclusion.“
Clément: “I was planning to move in Poland before coronavirus happen and this
opportunity is a real chance for me to use my capacities to a common social project while developing
new knowledge in a country that i got big interest.“
Andrés: “I hope we can all learn from and help each other achieve all our goals during
this project.“
Tono: “Being part of a volunteer program is essential for growth as a person, being able,
in addition, to learn those soft-skills that are not taught either in textbooks or scientific papers.“
Valentina: “I have always looked for ways to develop my creativity using computers
and the technology that I have at my hands to create art in a digital way. I love making lots of
different ways of art and mixed media“
Alejandro: “Although this last year in Barcelona I spent a lot of time with my master’s
mates from different countries from around the world, I was wishing to live in a really multicultural
environment. And this is why, plus many other things, I am in TRATWA.“
We hope to see you on Instagram and we wish you a happy new year!
Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku!
